Saturday 1 December 2018 at about 8 PM marked the lighting up of Gawler’s Riverbank Christmas Display which will now run through to early January 2019.
The display is in its 25th year having been an initiative of the Noack family and the Gawler Apex Club in or about 1990 with Rotary Club of Gawler Light working tirelessly for the last 14 years or thereabouts to make it bigger and better.
The Clark family were committed from the outset of their acquisition of the property in 2002 to continue the wonderful work of the Noack family and Gawler Apex Club and now the wonderful people of Rotary Club of Gawler Light and are extremely proud to be associated with what is certainly proving to be a very popular attraction for the town.
The display has been modernised over recent years by Rotary Club of Gawler Light with lightweight and more durable displays, improved and more energy efficient lighting and with the addition this year of sound which harks back to the very early days of the display.
Accompanying this blog is a selection of pictures that were taken at the lighting up function including the latest addition to the Riverbank Christmas Display courtesy of Lachlan from Immanuel Lutheran primary School at Gawler East (pictured) – a touch of Aussie Christmas.
